Azerbaijan increases building gypsum production

Construction materials worth 587.2 million manat were produced in Azerbaijan from January through February 2020, which is 4.9 percent less than in the same period in 2019, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee.

The volume of building gypsum production in the two months amounted to 700 tons (2.3 times growth), building bricks – 70,700 cubic meters (an increase of 2.2 percent), ready-mixed concrete – 225,800 tons (an increase of 13, 7 percent), processed marble, travertine and alabaster and products from them - 1.77 million tons (an increase of 22.6 percent), prefabricated concrete structures – 9,300 cubic meters (an increase of 10.7 percent).

Azerbaijan saw a decline in the production of asphalt - by 5.5 percent (25,900 tons), cement - by 19.8 percent (0.41 million tons), building blocks and bricks made of cement, artificial stone or concrete – 10,900 tons (2.6 times decline), asphalt – 25,900 tons (5.5 percent decline).
