About $1.56 billion worth of foreign investment has been invested in Iran's Markazi Province over the past two years, said Saeed Farrokhi Deputy governor of Markazi Province, Trend reports referring to the IRNA.
According to Farrokhi, however, US sanctions against Iran have been at their maximum for the past two years.
Farrokhi said that this amount of foreign investment has not been registered in the Markazi Province for the past 40 years.
The deputy governor said that 15,000 new jobs were created in the province last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
Iran's Markazi Province has 12 counties and a population of more than 1.4 million. The value of exports of non-oil products in the Markazi Province amounted to about $3 billion over the past three years (until March 20, 2020). In total, the province has earned more than 59.4 trillion rials (about $1.41 billion) over the past three years.
