Uzbek-Korean Uz-Segang LLC joint venture plans to boost exports of its fruits and vegetables, Trend reports citing the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.

“Uz-Segang in the Tashlak district of Fergana region is capable of processing and exporting 16,000 tons of agricultural products per year. A modern logistics center worth 100 billion soum ($9.8 million) has been established there, and equipped with advanced technologies from Italy, Turkey, South Korea and China,” the message said.

So, according to Italian technology, cherries are sorted and packaged by color and size. The line is capable of detecting and isolating defective fruits with a laser.

The South Korean SNP line sorts pomegranates in the same way, showing which fruits have not ripened or started to rot. This contributes to gaining customer confidence and supplying only selected goods to the market. The company’s products have Global G.A.P. international certificate.

This year Uz-Segang plans to export $20 million worth of products to China, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Russia and Kazakhstan.

Besides, 20 fruit and vegetable and grape clusters have been created in six specialized districts of Fergana region (Uzbekistan). This year they plan to produce 288,000 tons of products and export 120,000 tons. There are refrigerated warehouses with a capacity of over 330,000 tons, 25 logistics centers and 90 processing plants.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of Uz-Segang joint venture in Tashlak district of Ferghana region on June 5, 2020.

Established in 2018, the Uzbek-Korean JV Uz-Segang LLC specializes in cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and legumes.

Earlier, the South Korea Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency issued a permit in 2020 for six Uzbek companies to supply fresh cherries to the market of South Korea - Gold Dried Fruits Export (Tashkent city), JV Uz-Segang (Fergana region), Brand Investment Group Agro LLC (Andijan region), Pure Fruit Trade LLC (Namangan region), Namangan Agro Logistics LLC (Namangan region) and Samarkand Garden Plast LLC (Samarkand region).
