A 30,000-ton grain warehouse will be built in the special economic zone of the Amirabad port in the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran), Mohammad Ali Asl Saidipour, Director of the Amirabad port, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization’s website.

According to Saidipour, in this regard, a contract was signed between an Iranian company and the port of Amirabad.

Saidipour added that 330 billion rials (about $7.85 million) worth of funds will be spent on the warehouse that will be built on an area of ​​7,000 square meters.

The director said that the company, which is building the warehouse, has pledged to store more than 210,000 tons of grain a year.

"Currently, the capacity of grain warehouses in the special economic zone of the Iran’s Amirabad port is 235,000 tons and another 235,000-ton warehouses are under construction,” he said.

In total, more than 267,000 tons of products were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the first two months of current Iranian year (March 20-May 20, 2020). About 40,300 tons of products were exported and 223,000 tons of products were imported through this port.
