Uzbekistan boosts exports of melons to Russia

Uzbekistan has significantly increased volume of melon exports, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in the period from January through May, 2020, some 342.5 tons of melons, worth $264,100 have been exported abroad.

At the same time, in May of 2020 Uzbekistan exported 186.6 tons of melons.

Today, Uzbek melons are in high demand in the markets of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

In the period from January through May, 2020, 159 tons of melons were exported to Russia. This is 154.5 tons more than for the same period in 2019.

Moreover, Uzbekistan increased volume of exports of wild cherries by two times, to 23,500 tons, in the period from January through May 2020, compared to the same period of 2019.
