Geostat: Export Price Index up in Georgia

The Export Price Index (XPI) increased in Georgia by 4.5 percent in May 2020 compared to the previous month, Trend reports with reference to National Statistics Office (Geostat).

There was a 3.3-percent increase in the prices for manufactured products, while for the products from mining and quarrying the prices were 17.2 percent higher.

Compared to May 2019, the XPI increased by 19.9 percent. The prices for manufactured products increased by 16.8 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 50.8 percent.

The Import Price Index (MPI) decreased by 1.8 percent over the previous month, while compared to May 2019 the Index increased by 5.4 percent.

Compared to May 2019, the prices were 4.8 percent higher for manufactured products, while for products from mining and quarrying a price increase of 11.2 percent was recorded.

With regard to electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, the prices were 8.2 percent higher.
