Kazakhstan to produce new type of domestic lung ventilators

Kazakhstan’s BARK Technology LLP is developing its own high-tech project for lung ventilators production, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov said, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.

The company will complete the development and will donate 20 ventilators for testing to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Healthcare. The remaining 112 ventilators will be produced from August through September 2020

Currently Kokchetav-4p ventilators are being produced by Tynys company.

To date, 380 ventilation units have been produced, of which 164 are ready for supplying, 216 are being tested. Some 200 more mechanical ventilators will be produced and supplied by the end of July 2020.

In order to organize production of an additional range of stationary mechanical ventilation devices, production is being mastered with Turkish and Chinese partners.

Kazakhstan’s Kazmedpribor LLP, OralMedRegion LLP also have technical base for production of ventilators and are ready to produce them, he said.

“In order to support domestic producers, we ask local executive bodies to focus on the products of domestic enterprises. This will give an impetus to our enterprises in increasing production capacities and launching new production facilities,” the minister concluded

The first two cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Kazakhstan among those who arrived in Almaty city from Germany on March 13, 2020.

The total number of coronavirus cases confirmed in Kazakhstan since the virus was first confirmed in the country amounted to 16,351 cases. This includes 10,195 people who recovered from the coronavirus, and 105 patients who passed away.
