The National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) produced a total of about 120,000 tons of copper during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020), managing director of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company Ardashir Sad Mohammadi said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
According to him, copper production exceeded estimates by 1 percent.
The director added that 21,700 tons of copper were produced in the 5th month of the current year (July 22-August 21) which is 2 percent more than projected.
Sad Mohammadi stressed that the company produced more than 149,000 tons of anodes and more than 115,000 tons of cathodes for 5 months.
He noted that anode production was 13 percent more than predicted, and cathode production was an 8 percent increase in comparison to what was predicted.
“Over five months, the company extracted a total of 71.08 million tons of mining materials, exceeding projection by 2 percent,” he said.
The director stressed that National Iranian Copper Industries Company extracted 14.4 million tons of mining materials in the 5th month of the current Iranian year, which is 3 percent above the estimates.
“More than 493,000 tons of copper concentrate was produced within five months. The production of copper concentrate is 3 percent more than planned,” he noted.
According to Sad Mohammadi, the company's copper concentrate production was 89,100 tons in the 5th month of the current Iranian year, which 4 percent more in comparison to forecasts.
