Azerbaijan exported wood and furniture products worth $668,000 from Jan. through Oct. 2020, which is 19.2 percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
According to the bulletin, the products’ share in a total volume of export to Azerbaijan made up 0.01 percent.
In the reporting period, the value of wood and its products’ import to Azerbaijan equaled $219.9 million, down by 5.6 percent compared to the same period of last year. Their share in a total volume of imports to the country made up 2.15 percent.
Meanwhile, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up over $21 billion, which is 25.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019. Of this amount, $12.2 billion accounted for export (a 27.3-percent year-on-year decline). The export’s share went down by 1.24 percentage points on annual basis, to 58.25 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.
In the past 10 months of 2020, the value of Azerbaijan’s import stood at nearly $8.8 billion, which is by 23.5 percent less than in 10M2019, while the import’s share in the total trade turnover rose by 1.24 percent, up to 41.75 percent of the total volume.
