Iran unveils export data for 11 months

Iran exported 103 million tons of goods worth $31.2 billion during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to Mirashrafi, the exports of Iran in 11 months decreased by 19 percent in terms of value and 18 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Mirashrafi added that the five main goods exported by Iran were gasoline, gas, gas condensate, petrochemicals and pistachios.

The director general emphasized that Iran exported 24.5 million tons of goods worth $8.1 billion to China and 23.9 million tons worth $6.8 billion to Iraq within 11 months.

“Iran also exported 14 million tons of goods worth $4.1 billion to the United Arab Emirates, 5.9 million tons worth $2.2 billion to Turkey and 6.4 million tons worth $2.1 billion to Afghanistan over the reporting period,” he said.

The official noted that these five countries accounted for 75 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of value terms and 72 percent in terms of volume.

Mirashrafi stressed Iran's foreign trade turnover for 11 months amounted to 134 million tons worth $65.5 billion.
