The volume of trade turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to $22.7 billion in 2020, Trend reports citing the payment balance of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, a surplus of $8.9 billion was formed in the oil and gas sector of the country, and in the non-oil sector – a deficit of $6.4 billion.
As a result, a surplus of $2.5 billion was formed in Azerbaijan's foreign trade balance, the report reads.
“During the reporting year, Azerbaijan had trade relations with 183 countries of the world. Around 16.8 percent of foreign trade falls on the CIS member states, 83.2 percent - to other countries,” the CBA report noted.
Earlier, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan stated that in 2020, amid an unfavorable external environment, the current account balance, which is the main component of the balance of payments, was close to a stable state.
