WB predicts fall in gold prices in 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21

Gold prices will decline on average by four percent in 2021 in accordance with the World Bank’s (WB) latest forecasts, Trend reports with reference to the WB.

In accordance with the data, the average price per ounce of gold will reach $1,700 in 2021, which is by two percent less than last year's forecast.

"The price of gold is expected to slightly decline in 2022 and reach $1,600 per ounce," the message said.

“The price of silver increased by eight percent in the first quarter of 2021 to their highest level during eight years and was 60 percent higher than a year earlier,” the WB said.

"The price of silver is expected to rise by about 22 percent in 2021 to $25 per ounce while the price is expected to decrease to $22 in 2022,” the message said. “The price of platinum this year will increase by 24.6 percent to $1,100 while in 2022 - up to $1,110."
