Azerbaijan to simplify import-export operations for local products

The Azerbaijani State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Control prepared a government program on adapting the national standardization system to international requirements for 2021–2025 and directed it to the relevant structures, a source in the service told Trend.

According to the source, the program is aimed to ensure the free circulation of Azerbaijani products in international trade and simplify import-export operations for them.

Implementation of the government programs providing for the adoption of 28 new technical regulations based on European directives will cover consumer goods to which they apply.

At the same time, according to the source, the ‘Azerbaijani Institute of Standardization’ public legal entity under the state service approved the ‘National Program of Standardization for 2021-2023’ for adopting and regular checking of 1,098 normative documents on standardization.

"The introduction of new standards will allow domestic entrepreneurs in the production process to produce competitive and responsive to the modern requirements of science, technology and product technology, as well as to expand access to foreign markets," emphasized the source.

Within the implementation of the national program, 11 state standards were adopted and included in the State Register, four of which cover assessment of compliance, three - statistical classifications of different industries, and the remaining standards apply to road safety, antibribery activity, occupational health and safety, and fighting with plastic bags, added the source.
