Iran launches several facilities in free trade zones

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6

As many as 62 manufacturing enterprises and infrastructure facilities were put into operation in the free trade zones in East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Gilan and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces of Iran today on July 6, Trend reports citing IRINN.

According to the report, a total of 31 trillion rials (about $739 million) has been spent in this regard. With the launch of these enterprises and facilities, 1,640 people were provided with jobs.

“Thus, 38 manufacturing enterprises were put into operation in the Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone of East Azerbaijan Province. In this regard, 15.1 trillion rials (about $360 million) have been spent. And as a result, 663 people were employed,” the report said.

Examples of these facilities are the production and assembly of diesel fuel trailers, shopping complexes, food and medicine laboratories, and so on.

Furthermore, four facilities and enterprises at a cost of 7.58 trillion rials (about $180 million) have been put into operation in the Maku Free Trade Zone of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province. And as a result, 360 people were employed. These include the airport's infrastructure facility, smart terminal, bridge and services facility, the report said.

According to the report, 14 economic enterprises at a cost of 6.16 trillion rials (about $146 million) have been put into operation in the Anzali Free Trade Zone of Iran's Gilan Province. And 446 people were employed as a result. Examples of these facilities are enterprises for the production of light bulbs, shopping complexes and so on.

“Moreover, six manufacturing enterprises and infrastructure facilities at a cost of 2.16 trillion rials (about $62.1 million) have been put into operation in Iran's Chabahar Free Trade Zone. In this regard, 169 people were provided with jobs. These include facilities on the production profile and aluminum, hotels, and so on,” the report said.

The event dedicated in this regard was attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and other officials online.
