Kazakhstan increases agriculture output in 1H2021

Kazakhstan’s agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output amounted to 1.51 trillion tenge ($3.5 billion) over the period from January through June 2021, which is 3.2 percent more compared to the same month of the last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Some 1.501 trillion tenge ($3.5 billion) accounted for agriculture alone, including 75.3 billion ($175.6 million) accounting for plant growing, and 1.4 trillion tenge ($3.3 billion) - for animal husbandry.

The increase in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output during the reporting period was due to the increase of slaughter volumes of livestock and poultry in live weight by 5.5 percent, and yield of raw cow's milk by 3.2 percent.

Almaty region leads by the total value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output, which reached 238.7 billion tenge ($556.5 million) from January through June 2021, showing a 1.3-percent increase compared to the same months of 2020.

This includes 17.4 billion tenge ($40.6 million) worth of plant growing output and 219.3 billion tenge ($511.2 million) of animal husbandry output.

Second and third places accounted for Turkestan and East Kazakhstan regions.

Agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the Turkestan region amounted to 212.6 billion tenge ($495.7 million), which is 1.9 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

This includes 37.8 billion tenge ($88.1 million) worth of plant growing output and 171.5 billion tenge ($399.7 million) of animal husbandry output.

The value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the East Kazakhstan region amounted to 183.2 billion tenge ($427.1 million), which is 3.2 percent more than during the same period of last year.

This includes 3.6 billion tenge ($8.4 million) worth of plant growing output and 178.1 billion tenge ($415.2 million) of animal husbandry output.

An increase in agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output was observed in all 14 Kazakh regions during the reporting period.
