The activities of 196 small mines have resumed activity in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
According to the IMIDRO, only in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021), the activities of 95 mines were resumed in Iran.
In general, the activities of 595 small mines have been resumed in Iran since the implementation of a plan to resume the activity of small mines in Iran (March 21, 2019), the report said.
According to the latest report of the IMIDRO, activities of 226 mines were resumed in Iran from March 20, 2020 to February 8, 2021.
A total of 2.6 trillion rials (about $61.9 million) has been spent in this regard and as a result, 3,000 people were employed. Resuming of the mines increased Iran's mining production by 8.1 million tons.
