Iran, Japan sign customs co-op agreement

The Japanese Embassy in Tehran announced that an agreement on mutual administrative assistance and cooperation in customs affairs was signed between the Governments of Japan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Iran Kazutoshi Aikawa and the head of Iran's Customs Administration Mahdi Mirashrafi, signed an agreement on mutual administrative assistance and cooperation in our customs affairs, on Sunday, the Japanese Embassy in Tehran wrote on its Twitter account, Trend reports.

Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, during his two-day visit to Iran.

The two-day visit is the first by a Japanese official since Ebrahim Raisi became Iran's new president and the first since the Japanese prime minister visited Iran in 2019.
