Monthly sales of goods at Iran Mercantile Exchange revealed

A total of 7.22 million tons of goods worth 533 trillion rials (about $12.7 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

According to the statistics, 1.65 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 235 trillion rials (about $5.6 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 7th month.

"About 420,000 tons of bitumen, 329,000 tons of various polymeric substances, 140,000 tons of chemicals, 13,900 tons of base oil, 6,000 tons of slaps wax, 501,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 83,200 tons of sulfur, 885 tons of anti-moisture coatings (facades) and 155,000 tons lube cut products were sold in this section," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 5.54 million tons of products worth 291 trillion rials (about $6.93 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month.

"So, 1.22 million tons of various steel products, 3.99 million tons of cement, 215,000 tons of iron ore, 26,400 tons of copper, 69 tons of precious metal concentrate, 580 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 23,900 tons of aluminum, 2,000 tons of coke, 21,800 tons of zinc ingots, 49,000 tons of sponge iron, and 67 kg gold bars were sold in this section within 7th month," the statistics said.

At the same time, 39,200 tons of various products worth 7.06 trillion rials (about $168 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the seventh month, the statistics said.

Furthermore, 1,300 kilograms of saffron worth 98.8 billion rials (about $2.35 million) were sold in the agriculture section of the IME.
