The exports from the North Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) increased by 110 percent in terms of value and by 50.6 percent in terms of volume, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of South Khorasan Province Hossein Haj Beighloo told IRNA, Trend reports.
Haj Beighloo said that 255,000 tons of province’s own goods worth $88.6 million were exported in 7 months.
The chairman added that the exported goods were mainly petrochemical products, foodstuff, sodium hydroxide, industrial products, and etc.
“These goods were exported to various countries, including, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Germany, China, Turkey, Ukraine and Pakistan Poland, Syria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Belgium, Austria, Oman, Indonesia and the UAE,” he said.
According to Haj Beighloo, 73,000 tons of industrial products, including, steel, aluminum ingots, cement and others worth $14.6 million over 7 months were exported from the province, which accounted for 16.5 percent of total exports in terms of value.
The chairman also noted that the province exported 182,000 tons of petrochemical products worth $73.1 million within the mentioned period, which accounted for 82.5 percent of the province's total exports in terms of value.
“In addition, the province exported 1,600 tons of agricultural products worth $900,000 in seven months, which accounted for 1 percent total region's exports in terms of value,” Haj Beighloo added.
Moreover, 12,700 tons of goods worth $25.5 million were imported to the province within 7 months. The imports dropped drastically, by 222 percent in value, while at the same time, increased by 176 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
The official emphasized that imported goods were nickel, alumina powder, equipment and raw materials. These goods were imported from China, Russia, Sudan, Pakistan, the UAE, Germany, South Korea, Turkey, India, the Netherlands, Ethiopia, Denmark, Austria and Oman.
