Kazakhstan reports decrease in annual agriculture output

Kazakhstan’s agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output amounted to 7.005 trillion tenge ($16.2 billion) over the period from January through November 2021, which is 2.5 percent less compared to the same month of the last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Some 6.9 trillion tenge ($16.1 billion) accounted for agriculture alone, including 4.2 trillion ($9.7 billion) accounting for plant growing, and 2.7 trillion tenge ($6.3 billion) - for animal husbandry.

The decrease in the agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output during the reporting period was due to the decrease in plant growing output by 6.5 percent.

Almaty region leads by the total value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output, which reached 983.8 billion tenge ($2.2 billion) from January through November 2021, showing a 1.2-percent increase compared to the same months of 2020.

This includes 559.2 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) worth of plant growing output and 419.6 billion tenge ($971.3 million) of animal husbandry output.

Second and third places accounted for North Kazakhstan and Turkestan regions.

Agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the North Kazakhstan region amounted to 875.3 billion tenge ($2.02 billion), which is 12.8 percent less than during the same period of 2020.

This includes 674.7 billion tenge ($1.5 billion) worth of plant growing output and 197.7 billion tenge ($457.7 million) of animal husbandry output.

The value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the Turkestan region amounted to 864.08 billion tenge ($2 billion), which is 2.1 percent more than during the same period of last year.

This includes 534.3 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) worth of plant growing output and 322.8 billion tenge ($823.6 million) of animal husbandry output.

An increase in agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output was observed in 10 Kazakh regions during the reporting period.
