It was also noted that establishment of a Turkmen logistics center in the Russia's Astrakhan region will contribute to new avenues for the two nations to enhance trade.
This agreement was reached during the visit of the governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin to Ashgabat last December. Through this center, goods from Turkmenistan will be delivered to Russian regions and further to Europe.
Following the results of 9 months of 2020, the volume of foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan with the Astrakhan region amounted to about $200 million.
In addition, more than 60 Russian constituent entities maintain interregional relations with Turkmenistan. Today, about 200 Russian companies operate in Turkmenistan, including KamAZ, GAZ Group, and Tatneft.
