Iran sees increase in exports from Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 13

The value of exports from Iran’s Markazi Province (central Iran) increased by 44 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Markazi Province Saeed Jafari told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Jafari, a total of $1.02 billion worth of goods were exported from the province in 10 months.

The chairman added that the main goods exported from the province were petrochemical products, aluminum ingots, fruit juice, various glass materials, heavy and light polyethylene etc.

"These goods were exported to 80 countries, mainly Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan and the UAE," he said.

Jafari also noted that $396 million worth of goods were imported to the Markazi Province for ten months. Imported goods were mainly alumina powder, raw materials for the production of fruit juices, cotton, equipment and spare parts.

The goods were mainly imported from China, Turkey, the UAE, India and Germany, the chairman pointed out.

There are more than 2,800 manufacturing enterprises operating in Markazi Province.
