BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. The amount of money spent on the industrial sector of the West Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran) increased by 80 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the West Azerbaijan Province Gholamreza Babaei said, Trend reports citing the organization.
According to Babaei, more than 32.1 trillion rials (about $765 million) was spent on the province's industrial sector for the last Iranian year.
The chairman added that as a result, 239 industrial enterprises in the province were either developed or put into operation. And thus, a total of 4,010 people were employed.
"The number of enterprises put into operation in the West Azerbaijan Province over last Iranian year increased by 16 percent, while employment - by 2 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year," he said.
Babaei also noted that 2,495 enterprises were licensed in the province to be setting up. In this regard, about 813 trillion rials (about $19.3 billion) is to be spent. If these enterprises are put into operation, 54,609 people will be employed.
