BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan amounted to 15.2 million tons from January through March 2022, which corresponds to the volume extracted during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 5.2 million tons in March 2022, which is 2.1 percent less than in March 2021.
Production of copper ores decreased by 2.5 percent during the reporting months, having amounted to 30.8 million tons (11.6 million tons in March 2022, an increase by 8.5 percent compared to the same month in 2021).
Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 1.3 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 13.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.
The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 530,600 tons in March 2022, which is 6.5 percent less than in March 2021.
Production of gold ores amounted to 8.1 million tons over the reporting period, which is 17 percent more than during the same period of 2021. The volume of gold ores produced in March 2022 was 2.7 million tons, which is 9.7 percent more than in March 2021.
Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 2.06 million tons, which is 10.5 percent less than during the same period of 2021 (844,900 tons in March 2022, down by 10.5 percent compared to March 2021).
As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 97,400 tons, which is 62.7 percent less than during the same period of 2021 (39,500 tons in March 2022, a decrease of 58 percent compared to March 2021).
Production of chrome ores amounted to 1.3 million tons, which is 0.1 percent more than during the same period of 2021 (478,000 tons in March 2022, a decrease of 0.8 percent compared to March 2021).
