BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 3. In general, 86,700 tons of goods worth $76.6 million were exported from Iran’s Markazi Province in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office, Esmaeil Hosseini told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to him, the exports increased by 10 percent in value compared to the same month last Iranian year.

Hosseini added that the main exported goods were various hydrocarbons, light and heavy polyethylene, aluminum ingots, food and soft drinks, rubber products, steel products, ceramics, etc.

The director general noted that the goods were exported to 48 countries, including Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

“In addition, 9,390 tons of goods worth $24.3 million were imported through the province's customs within the first month, which is a decrease of 39 percent in value compared to the same month last Iranian year,” he said.

Hosseini also pointed out that fruit juice packages, equipment and spare parts, raw materials, steel wires, and medical supplies were the main imported goods via the province’s customs. These goods were imported from 23 countries, including the UAE, Turkey, China, India, and Turkmenistan.

The director general stressed that the province's customs revenues for the first month amounted to 95.7 billion rials (about $2.27 million), which is a decrease of 63 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
