TEHRAN, Iran, June 11. Iran's hydropower plants are to increase production to 15 million MWh due to peak demands in consumption, said deputy in Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company (IWPCO) Ahmad Kavosinejad, Trend report citing Mehr News Agency.
He pointed out that Iran has predicted to increase the power production of its hydropower plants in the current year (started March 21,2022) from 12,000 MWh to 15,000 MWh.
According to the official, the country is facing water shortage and drought that could affect the capacity of dams' reservoirs, however, the IWPCO is managing to supply sufficient electricity to consumers.
