TEHRAN, Iran, August 1. Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones of Iran Saeed Mohammad announced the allocation of $11.9 million for establishment of new free trade zones (FTZs) in Iran, Trend reports citing Mehr.

He noted that for the first time last year, the overall trade balance of Iran`s free zones stood at zero.

A zero-trade balance means that the Iran`s Free zones experienced equal size trade surplus.

“It indicates that the free zones are on a path towards more exports,” he explained.

According to the Supreme Council of Economic Zones of the country, in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21), there has been an increase in exports from Iran`s free trade zones.
