BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 23. A total of 10.3 million tons of goods worth over 651 trillion rials (about $15.5 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.
This is a decrease of 0.16 percent in value, while an increase of 14.7 percent in volume, compared to the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2022).
According to the statistics, 1.83 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 246 trillion rials (about $5.86 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 5th month.
These products were mainly various petrochemical products, including vacuum bottom, bitumen, polymer substances, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, slaps wax, and etc.
“In addition, 8.44 million tons of products worth 401 trillion rials (about $9.55 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month,” the statistics said.
According to the statistics, various products, including cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, aluminum, zinc, copper, molybdenum concentrate, precious metal concentrate, gold bars, and so on were sold in this section.
At the same time, 41,000 tons of various products worth 4.25 trillion rials (about $101 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the 5th month, the statistics said.
