TEHRAN, Iran, August 25. Iran's major automaker, Iran Khodro (IKCO) has discussed the launch of a joint auto production platform with Russia, said the Managing Director of IKCO Mehdi Khatibi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Speaking at the MIMS Automobility exhibition in Moscow, Khatibi indicated that policies of the two countries in regard to auto production are absolutely certain and joint investment will start after participating companies are specified.
China is also expected to join the auto cooperation project in the future, he said adding that Iran Khodro plans to sell passenger cars and heavy vehicles to Russia.
The Iranian automaker has signed a deal with a Russian company to export 1,000 ATMAN trucks in one year which will increase in coming years.
