IRICA records growth in Iran’s imports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31. Iran's imports increased by 32 percent in value and 9 percent in volume in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

In total, Iran imported 2.9 million tons of goods worth over $4.43 billion in the 5th month, according to Latifi.

Latifi added that so, Iran imported 1 million tons of goods worth about $1.2 billion from the UAE, 334,000 tons worth $1 billion from China, 180,000 tons worth $379 million from Türkiye, 225,000 tons worth $300 million from India, 233,000 tons worth $116 million from Russia within the mentioned month.

Moreover, more than 1 million tons of goods were transited through Iran in the 5th month, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year, the customs official noted.

The spokesman also said that in general, Iran's non-oil trade turnover for the 5th month amounted to 11.3 million tons worth over $8.1 billion, which is an increase of 25.4 percent in value and 10.6 percent in volume compared to the same month of last Iranian year.
