BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. Iran's raw steel exports decreased by 20 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the report of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
According to the statistics, Iran exported about 2.48 million tons of raw steel within 5 months. Meanwhile, in the same period of the last Iranian year, the figure stood at about 3.08 million tons.
So, Iran exported about 1.82 million tons of billet and bloom in 5 months, which is a decrease of 11 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year. The figure was about 2.05 million tons in the same period of the last Iranian year.
Iran also exported 661,000 tons of slabs for the reporting period, which is 36 percent less than in the same period last Iranian year. So, export amounted to 1.03 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Furthermore, Iran exported 1.17 million tons of steel products over 5 months. This is a decrease of 17 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year.
Thus, the country’s steel products exports amounted to 1.4 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Over 5 months, Iran exported 213,000 tons of sponge iron, which is a decrease of 57 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 490,000 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
