BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. The current fishing season from Caspian Sea in Golestan Province (north-eastern Iran), has started, Director General of Fisheries Department of Golestan Province Esmaeil Jabbari said, Trend reports citing Iran Fisheries Organization’s website.

The director general said that the current season will last 6 months, and about 900-1,000 tons of fish are estimated to be caught.

Jabbari added that there are 18 fishing companies and 813 fishermen with 120 vessels operating during the current season.

“Generally, 255 tons of bony fish were caught from the Caspian Sea in the Golestan Province over the last season. Of this, 175 tons were mullet, 55 tons were Caspian kutum, 20 tons were carp and 5 tons were other fish spices,” he noted.
