BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. In total, Iran imported more than 11.9 million tons of goods worth $8.14 billion from neighboring countries, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The customs official said that the import increased by 4.4 percent in value, while decreased by 14 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Value of Iran’s imports from neighboring countries for 6 months:

The UAE - worth $7.2 billion (1-percent decrease);

Türkiye - worth $2.68 billion (10-percent increase in value);

Russia - worth $876 million (37-percent increase);

Pakistan - worth $494 million (350-percent increase);

Oman - worth $365 million (35-percent increase);

Iraq - worth $90 million (82-percent decrease);

Kazakhstan - worth $80 million (148-percent increase);

Qatar - worth $21 million (248-percent increase);

Azerbaijan - worth $19.4 million (15-percent decrease);

Turkmenistan –worth $15.3 million (29-percent decrease);

Afghanistan –worth $13.1 million (106-percent increase);

Kuwait –worth $5.1 million (27-percent decrease);

Bahrain - worth $893,000 (30-percent increase);

Other countries - worth $5 million (65-percent decrease).

Over 6 months, Iran's non-oil trade turnover with neighboring countries amounted to 38.6 million tons worth about $24.2 billion. This is an increase of 7 percent in value, while a decrease of 18 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
