BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Iran’s exports from Tehran Province in the north of the country amounted to 4.74 million tons worth about 2.48 billion during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), Deputy Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Tehran Province Hassan Mirzaei said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
According to Mirzaei, industrial products worth $245 million, agricultural products worth $153 million, minerals worth $94 million, petrochemicals worth $51 million, and carpets worth $48 million were the main exported goods for 6 months.
The deputy chairman added that Tehran Province’s goods were mainly exported to Türkiye, Iraq, Germany, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the mentioned countries accounted for 61.2 percent of the province's total exports for the reporting period.
“In 6 months, $4.8 billion worth of goods were imported to Tehran Province, which is a decrease of 12.7 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. The share of Tehran Province in Iran’s total imports for six months was 18.4 percent,” he said.
