BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. The volume of wheat imported through Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 76 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Hossein Abbasnejad said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to Abbasnejad, in total, about 1.28 million tons of wheat were imported into the country through the Shahid Rajaee port.

“At present, 11 ships with a total cargo of more than 685,000 tons are waiting to be unloaded in the port. Seven of these ships have more than 437,000 tons of wheat, two - more than 134,000 tons of barley, and two - more than 114,000 tons of corn,” the director general said.

He also said that two ships with about 122,000 tons of wheat are currently being unloaded in the port.
