BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. Iran's raw steel production increased by 16 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the report of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
Within 7 months, Iran produced about 18.3 million tons of raw steel.
Meanwhile, in the same period the last Iranian year, the country’s raw steel production amounted to 15.7 million tons.
At the same time, 12.6 million tons of steel products were produced in Iran over seven months, which is an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
So, the figure stood at 11 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Furthermore, Iran produced about 20.7 million tons of sponge iron in 7 months.
This is an increase of 19 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, sponge iron production in Iran amounted to nearly 17.4 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
