BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 5. Iran exported more than 39.1 million tons of mining products worth approximately $9.96 billion, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, Iran's mining exports for the reporting period increased by 3 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Over 10 months, Iran exported $4.94 billion worth of raw steel and steel products, $1.27 billion worth of copper and related products, as well as $894 million worth of aluminum and related products.

Iran also exported zinc worth $520 million, coal worth $329 million, iron ore pellets worth $477 million, cement worth $290 million, and other mining products worth about $1.24 billion during the reporting period.

Meanwhile, in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2022 through January 20, 2023) alone, Iran exported mining products worth $864 million.

At the same time, Iran imported 3.62 million tons of mining products worth approximately $3.98 billion in 10 months.

Iran’s steel production capacity is around 40 million tons annually. The figure is planned to increase to 55 million tons by 2025.
