BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. Overall, 457,000 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $120 million were exported from Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province in the north-east of the country to Turkmenistan, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through January 20, 2023), Deputy Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province Ali Ghafouri Moghaddam told ISNA, Trend reports.
The deputy stressed that Turkmenistan is considered one of the main markets for the export of non-oil products from the Razavi Khorasan Province. For this purpose, it is necessary to increase exports from the province to Turkmenistan.
“Meanwhile, about $122 million worth of non-oil products were exported to Turkmenistan from Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022),” he said.
Moghaddam also added that it is planned to increase non-oil exports from Razavi Khorasani Province by an average of 20 percent, and a number of steps are being taken in this regard.
“As of February 15, 2023, the 4th special exhibition of Iran has started in Turkmenistan. The mentioned exhibition will last for 2 days. Various Iranian companies, including companies of Razavi Khorasan Province, operating in construction, petrochemical, oil and gas, food, and auto manufacturing industries, participate in the exhibition,” the official noted.
Generally, Iran’s non-oil exports from Razavi Khorasan Province amounted to 1.8 million tons worth $1.5 billion within the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 - December 21, 2022). This is an increase of 4 percent in value, while a decrease of 16.4 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
