BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Coal concentrate production of two companies operating under the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), increased by 65 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the IMIDRO’s website.
The mentioned two companies are Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and Central Alborz Coal Company.
In overall, the two companies produced 660,154 tons of coal concentrate in 10 months. The figure stood at 399,888 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
So, Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company produced 569,750 tons of coal concentrate, and Central Alborz Coal Company - 90,404 tons within ten months.
At the same time, these companies extracted a total of 1,917,528 tons of minerals over 10 months, which is 84 percent compared to 1,044,203 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
During 10 months, 621,767 tons of coal concentrate were sent by the mentioned two companies to local companies in the country. This is an increase of 60 percent compared to 420,922 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Reportedly, Iran's total coal reserve is about 14 billion tons, of which about 1.2 billion tons are extractable. Also, Iran has the capacity to extract 3.3 million tons of coal mineral and produce 1.9 million tons of coal concentrate per year.
