BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 26. A total of 7,000 tons of aluminum oxide worth about $16.9 million were exported from Iran’s North Khorasan Province in the north-east of the country, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through February 19, 2023), Deputy Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of North Khorasan Province Mahyar Mashayekhi said, Trend reports citing the organization.
The deputy chairman said that the main part of aluminum oxide produced by Iran Alumina Company is consumed within the country. This company can produce 240,000 tons of aluminum oxide per year.
Meanwhile, Iran Alumina Company produced 197,000 tons of aluminum oxide in 11 months, he added.
According to Mashayekhi, the company also produced 32,600 tons of aluminum ingots within the mentioned period.
In general, Iran produces 250,000 tons of aluminum oxide per year.
Also, Iran has capacity to produce 700,000 tons aluminum per year.
