BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Iran’s imports through the customs of Markazi Province in the center of the country, increased by 26 percent in value and 35 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office, Alireza Sadeghifar told ISNA, Trend reports.

According to Sadeghifar, a total of 193,000 tons of goods worth $621 million were imported through the customs of Iran’s Markazi Province during the last Iranian year.

The director general added that the main imported goods were raw materials, equipment and etc.

He said that the mentioned goods were imported to the province from 51 countries, mainly the UAE, Türkiye, China and India.

Meanwhile, Iran imported 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion within the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023).

This is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
