BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. Iran's fig fruit exports increased by 25.3 percent in value and 23.3 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports.
In total, Iran exported more than 16,000 tons of figs worth $48.5 million in the last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, Iran's fig export stood at 13,000 tons worth $38.7 million.
Iranian figs were exported to 38 countries, including neighboring countries, Afghanistan, the UAE, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Russia.
Overall, Iran exported more than 7.76 million tons of agricultural and food products worth approximately $5.2 billion.
At the same time, Iran exported 21 million tons of non-oil products worth $7.51 billion within the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023).
This is an increase of 12.3 percent in value, while a decrease of 13.7 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last Iranian year.
