BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 42.6 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
This shows that families spent an average of 42.6 percent more on products and services in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month in the last year.
During the 3rd month, the monthly inflation in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 70.6 percent, while in the non-food and services sector was 38.8 percent.
At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 3rd month decreased by 12 percent compared to the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023).
Within the 3rd month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 42.5 percent. This is 11.1 percent less than the 2nd month.
Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 43.2 percent for the 3rd month. This is a decrease of 17.1 percent compared to the 2nd month.
The annual inflation rate in the country (June 22, 2022 through June 21, 2023), was 48.5 percent. This is a decrease of 0.6 percent compared to the previous period (June 22, 2021 through June 21, 2022).
At the end of the 3rd month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 47.7 percent in Iranian cities, while - 53.3 percent in villages.
