Iran discloses details of non-oil trade with Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. The non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Turkmenistan was around 521,000 tons worth approximately $183 million during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), Trend reports.

As stated in the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran’s trade turnover with Turkmenistan for the reporting period increased by 1.2 percent in value while decreasing by 5.4 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

So, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 551,000 tons worth approximately $180 million in the same period last year.

The main goods traded between Iran and Turkmenistan were agricultural and food products, industrial products, transformers, water conditioners, petrochemical products, petroleum coke, cotton, cloth, etc.

In the 5th month alone (July 23 through August 22, 2023), the two countries’ non-oil trade stood at 98,400 tons worth $33 million.

Overall, the value of Iran's non-oil trade turnover was $43.5 billion within the first five months of the current Iranian year.
