BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. The non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Georgia was around 217,000 tons worth approximately $124 million, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), Trend reports.
Compared to the same period last year, Iran’s trade with Georgia that did not involve oil products fell by 11.9 percent in terms of value, but rose by 16.4 percent in terms of volume, as stated in the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Thus, the non-oil trade turnover between the two countries stood at around 186,000 tons worth $140 million over a five-month period last Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022).
The main goods traded between the two countries were agricultural products, steel, pipes, mining minerals, glassware, petrochemical products, wood, various types of equipment and spare parts, etc.
Meanwhile, in the 5th month alone (July 23 through August 22, 2023), Iran’s non-oil trade with Georgia amounted to nearly 46,400 tons worth about $25.5 million.
Overall, the value of Iran's non-oil trade turnover was over $43.5 billion within the first five months of the current Iranian year.
