Business Materials 22 September 2005 18:22 (UTC +04:00)

Payment of customs duties may be carried out through cash machines and internet-banking soon. Now it is carried out by plastic cards from September 2005, the Azericard Processing Company told Trend.

“Payment is carried out in the POS-terminals installed in the central customs and Sulu-Tapa customs point. We plan the extending of the system in 2006 in order people will be able to carry out similar payments through internet-banking and cash machines. Payment may be carried out not only through the cards of the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA), but also any country. 20% of customs duties payment falls to the plastic cards of the IBA. The figure can change in favor of the IBA, as it is the leader of plastic cards in Azerbaijan,” the Azericard noted.

The company also noted that commission for similar operations is determined by every bank. Besides, payment through cashless settlement is also possible.

Payment of customs duties through cards is carried out at the President’s decree on strengthening of anti-inflation measures.
