Next-generation Scions to feature more boxy designs

(autoinsidernews) - According to AutoWeek, the next-generation Scion tC and xA vehicles will borrow styling cues from the popular xBs boxy design language.

When the xA gets a redesign in spring 2008, expect it to lose its current wedge-like shape in favor of a boxier style. As for the next xB, dont expect a lot of changes. Scion boss Mark Templin says: We should always have a box. The box can evolve and improve, but the concept of a box will not change. This likely means the xB will become a heritage style model. The next tC coming in 2010 will sport a more squared-off shape inspired by the Scion Fuse concept, which was unveiled earlier this year at the New York Auto Show, reports Trend.

And Scion is expected to get a fourth model, called the xD, which is likely to be some variation of the Toyota Matrix theme. The xD will arrive for the 2008 model year.
