Azeri-Polish Business Forum to Take Place in Baku

The Fund for Promotion of Export and Investments (AZPROMO) informed Trend that a national exhibition of Poland and the Azerbaijani-Polish business Forum is scheduled for 7-10 November in Baku. The events are organized by the Government of Poland, the Polish Chamber of Economy, as well as the Azerbaijan Ministry of Economic Development and AZPROMO.

The Polish businessmen were invited to participate in a business-forum to be organized within the framework of a business workshop on investment opportunities in Azerbaijan held in Warsaw on 11-12 September 2006

Representatives from nearly 50 companies who specialize in the food industry, trade, construction, production of plastic cards, excise brands, bottles, machinery and tools for civil industry, helicopters, furniture, services in the oil , gas and water division, will visit Azerbaijan to attend the business forum.

Within the formwork of intergovernmental commission Poland voiced its readiness to consider possible approval of credit by the Polish government for financing import of Polish goods and services to Azerbaijan.

In 2005 the goods turnover between the two countries rose 3.7% and made up $22.6m, while in the first half-year of 2006 the foreign trade turnover was $11.7m.
