Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD) intends to increase the transportation of cargos by more than 7% in 2007. It is planned to transport approximately 30 mln. tons of cargo in 2007, against 28 mln. tons in 2006, the ASRD Head Arif Askerov stated on 13 October, Trend reports.
According to him, the increase of the transportation in 2007 will be achieved mainly at the expense of oil cargos from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, etc.
In 2005 ASRD transported 26.2 mln. tons of various cargos.
