Toyota records 15.9 percent increase in November sales

(autoinsidernews) - Toyota reported it best-ever November sales of 196,695 vehicles, an increase of 15.9 percent from November 2005. Year-to-date Toyota's sales are up 12.5 percent from the same period in 2005, reports Trend.

Both the Toyota and Lexus divisions posted their best-ever November sales. The Toyota Division was up 18 percent overall with a 14.3 percent increase in passenger cars led by Yaris, Corolla and Camry, and a 22.8 increase in light trucks, led by a 156.0 percent increase in RAV4 sales.

The Lexus Division saw sales increase by 4.2 percent, with an increase of 15.4 percent in cars led by the ES 350 (up 44 percent) and the LS 430/460 (up 116.3 percent), Lexus light trucks continued their pattern of lower sales, with sales off 9.3 percent.

Scion reported November sales of 10,769 units. The tC sports coupe led the way with November sales of 5,084 units. Scion xA sales were up 11.5 percent, posting best-ever November sales of 2,204 units.
